Anuja Katyal is a dedicated Jyotishi who has been immersed in the study of Indian wisdom traditions for many years. Her love of the Indian Vidyas began with a deep commitment to Indian Classical Music, studying sitar full time under the renowned Ustad Imrat Khan. From there, her path of learning expanded into Jyotisha, Vedanta, Sanskrit, and Vastu.
Anuja began her formal Jyotish studies with Hart de Fouw at the Vedic Vidya Institute in San Rafael, California. She has since completed the full 5-year Parashara Jyotisha Certificate Course under her Gurus, Pandit Sanjay Rath and Gurvi Sarbani Rath, following them in the lineage of Sri Achyutananda Das of Puri. In addition, she has completed 2 years of Mantra Shastra studies under Pandit Sanjay Rath. In 2024, she also served as an upādhyāya for PJC students.
Rooted in parampara, Anuja honors the sacred lineage of her Gurus and approaches Jyotisha with both reverence and compassion. With a foundation in music, scripture, and traditional study, her path in the Indian Vidyas has been guided by a lifelong devotion to sacred learning, disciplined practice, and a desire to serve others with clarity and compassion.
